Survey Design and Planning

One of the most cost-effective ways to understand and evaluate a product's target users is through surveys (e.g., user profiles). However, a survey is only as good as its psychometric properties, defined as Aspects of test development and evaluation that are essential to ensure that an assessment is appropriate for a particular client group and provides reliable and valid information, . Good reliability, validity, and other properties are necessary in order to apply this knowledge to the design of user interfaces. With expertise in statistics and experimental design, Atlantic Human Factors assists clients with:

  • Planning effective and targeted surveys.
  • Structuring surveys appropriately and asking the important questions.
  • Dealing with confidentiality, ethical, implementation, and debriefing issues.
